Star SAFIRE 380-HLDc: FLIR’s New Airborne Thermal Imaging System
FLIR announced today the Star SAFIRE 380-HLDc thermal imaging system for smaller combat aircraft at the 2016 Farnborough Air Show in England. The Star SAFIRE 380-HLDc combines high-definition, multispectral imaging with precision laser designation in a single compact system and is ideal for aircrafts with limited ground clearance.
With the Star SAFIRE 380-HLDc, airborne operators will not have to make system size, weight and targeting performance tradeoffs. Additionally, its compact design provides a superior solution for locating, identifying and laser marking targets at maximum range.
The Star SAFIRE 380-HLDc is the latest innovation developed under FLIR’s unique Commercially Developed, Military Qualified (CDMQ®) design process. It leverages FLIR’s decades of experience designing, producing, integrating and supporting combat-proven systems that keep the men and women in militaries around the world alert and informed, allowing them to return home safely.
